Η ProAc επενδύει πολύ χρόνο ερευνώντας την επιλογή του υλικού διαφράγματος για τις μονάδες μεγαφώνων της. Ορισμένα υλικά υπερέχουν από άλλα σε ορισμένες συχνότητες και επομένως είναι λογικό να χρησιμοποιούνται πολλοί και διαφορετικοί τύποι διαφράγματος στις μονάδες μεγαφώνων ανάλογα με τον τύπο τους - woofer, midrange, twitters.

Το Response DT8, ενσωματώνει όλες αυτές τις παραμέτρους σχεδίασης για πρώτη φορά σε σχεδίαση ηχείου δυο δρόμων της ProAc. Χρησιμοποιώντας 2 μονάδες mid-woofer 2 x 6,5 ιντσών, η μια μονάδα mid-woofer έχει κώνο από mica και προσφέρει εξαιρετική απόδοση χαμηλών συχνοτήτων σε μια καμπίνα bass reflex με τα μπάσα να φορτώνονται μέσω πλευρικών αεραγωγών. Αντίθετα η μονάδα mid-woofer πολυπροπυλενίου δίνει μια ομαλή χωρίς χρωματισμούς με πολύ λεπτομερή περιγραφή μεσαία περιοχή. Και τα δύο mid-woofer λειτουργούν παράλληλα, με αποτέλεσμα εκτεταμένη απόκριση χαμηλών συχνοτήτων με φυσικά και γλυκά ProAc μεσαία και εξαιρετική στερεοφωνική εικόνα.

Το crossover σχεδιασμένο από τον Stewart Tyler, ενσωματώνει άψογα το δοκιμασμένο τουίτερ μαλακού θόλου 1 ίντσας της ProAc. Το tweeter είναι τοποθετημένο offset μεταξύ των δυο woofer. Το Response DT8 είναι το entry ηχείο δαπέδου της γκάμας floor-standing ηχείων της PROAC.
